Jon Morgan

Professional Summary

Jon Morgan works with Executives and their management teams to enable business growth through effective strategy execution. He achieves this through developing clarity around what needs to done – the vision and objectives for the organisation together with how this will be done – reflecting the values and behaviours of those involved. In this way individuals and teams achieve an improved level of focus, discretionary commitment and ultimately, engagement in delivery. He is the founder and Managing Director of GoalFocus Ltd.

Jon gained his experience through line management (predominantly in business development roles), consultancy and performance coaching.

Following a degree in Business Studies, Jon began his career in corporate planning with RTZ. He joined specialist information management consultancy (EPS Ltd which was acquired by EMI) and as UK Sales Director led the sales and marketing of decision support software to blue chip organisations and vertical markets. Jon then went on to found EIS LTD (EISL), providing board level consulting and bespoke enterprise software solutions to UK businesses including ICI, British Steel, and Vodafone.

Working at Director level for IBM (Mergers and Acquisitions) and Compaq Global Services (establishing and running the Business Performance Innovation practice) he complemented his IT and systems experience with a developing fascination for leadership personality and behaviour, and in particular the important role that leadership coaching plays in gaining commitment and improving performance.At Whitehead Mann he trained as a leadership coach gaining a deep understanding of psychometric tools and behavioural assessment.

In 2002 he committed to a 12 month Business Coach programme with Meyler Campbell (accredited by the World Association of Business Coaches and the ICF). With this experience, he founded GoalFocus in 2006 – to provide consulting, software design and implementation for organisations and sectors undergoing significant change. He is a guest lecturer on Executive MBA programmes including Cranfield University and most recently,  Cass Business School (Nov 2011).

Jon is married with three children. His interests include music, rugby and charitable work. He has been a member of the IOD for 25 years.
